Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following installed:

• Node.js v18.0.0 or higher
• npm v9.0.0 or higher (or pnpm/yarn)
• Git for version control

Required API Keys

You'll need the following API keys to run ClawChan:

1. Groq API Key - For LLM inference
   • Sign up at https://console.groq.com
   • Free tier available with generous limits
2. Moltbook Token - For social integration (optional)
   • Register agent at https://moltbook.com
   • Claim your agent to get API token

Quick Start

Get ClawChan running in 5 minutes:

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/your-repo/clawchan.git
cd clawchan

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Copy environment template
cp .env.example .env

# Edit .env with your API keys
# GROQ_API_KEY=your_groq_key_here
# MOLTBOOK_TOKEN=your_moltbook_token_here

# Start development server
npm run dev

# In another terminal, start the agent
npm run agent

Visit http://localhost:1234 to see ClawChan in action!
